The 40 honorees were selected from what the associ- ation described as an “outstanding and highly competi- tive” pool of approximately 2,800 nominees. Dr. Grandhe is a quadruple board-certified physi- cian-executive who completed dual Harvard-affiliated fellowships in hospice and palliative medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and in bioethics at the Harvard Center for Bioethics. Originally from India, Dr. Grandhe earned his medi- cal degree from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in Chennai before pursuing advanced training in the United States. The association noted that Grandhe has focused his practice on culturally responsive and compassionate care for medically underserved communities, par- ticularly patients facing serious illness and end-of-life decisions. Dr. Shah is an assistant attending physician with the Myeloma Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NewYork. She previously served as a fellow at Montefiore Health System in NewYork. A board-certified hematologist-oncologist, Shah specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of plasma cell disorders. In announcing the honorees, the Association for Value-Based Cancer Care said the recipients represent “excellence across research, clinical care, advocacy and beyond.” “Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees. We look forward to honoring your achievements and the impact you continue to make,” the association said in a statement. The winners are scheduled to be honored May 30 at the Palmer House in Chicago. Reddy, a native of Pulivendula in Andhra Pradesh, is a practicing advocate at the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and recently earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. With experience in criminal and family law in In- dia, Reddy pursued advanced studies in business and corporate law in the United States. He previously earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws degree from Alliance University in Karnataka. He also attended summer programs at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he studied public policy and international criminal law. After completing his law degree in India, Reddy served as a law clerk-cum-research assistant at the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and enrolled with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh before continuing his legal education in the United States. Announcing the milestone on LinkedIn, Reddy wrote, “Thrilled to announce that I am now officially a licensed attorney in the state of Indiana!” “Being sworn in as a member of the Indiana Bar is a milestone I will cherish forever,” he added. In addition to his legal career, Reddy has been actively involved in public policy and student leadership. He serves as the Andhra Pradesh state vice president of the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF), the student wing of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). TDP leader and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh congratulated Reddy on social media platform X, calling the accomplishment “a matter of immense pride for the entire Telugu community.” Nara noted that Reddy became a licensed attorney in Indiana on his first attempt at the age of 25 and de- scribed his dual licensure in India and the United States as “a truly rare and remarkable achievement.” C ommunity members from across generations gathered May 9 for a spiritual wellness and self- growth program titled “From Service to Self: A Spiritual Experience for Every Generation,” held at a residence onWexford Terrace in Jamaica, Queens. The four-hour event brought together more than 50 attendees, including spiritual seekers, community advo- cates and supporters of vegan initiatives, for an afternoon focused on meditation, yoga, mindfulness and personal development. The program featured Ms. Rajyashree Chaudhuri, national president of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, as chief guest. Panel discussions included remarks from Rakesh Bhargava, planning director and past president of the NewYork chapter ofWorld Vegan Vision, and Uma Swaminathan of AIA New Jersey andWorld Vegan Vision. The event was emceed by Kavya Ramani, while rep- resentatives Andre and Mallica participated on behalf of theWorld Peace Organization (HWPL). Meditation and yoga sessions were led by Mirla Pireira, who guided participants through mindfulness exercises aimed at promoting inner peace, emotional balance and resilience. Organizers also arranged interactive work- shops, games and discussions designed to encourage self-reflection, communication and community engage- ment. The gathering concluded with a vegan dinner where attendees shared experiences and continued discussions in an informal setting. Organizers said the event reflected the collaborative efforts of organizations includingWorld Vegan Vision, founded by H.K. and Malti Shah, Ananda Marga, and Hu- man Light Foundation Inc.
