According to an RSS post on X.com , some 180 religious leaders from 30 countries attended and announced a five-point action plan to take respon- sibility for the future. “Global religious leaders reject use of religion to justify hatred, humiliation, dehumanization, or violence. ‘One world One Humanity’ ‘call for action’ resolution commit to stand for dignity of any community threatened with humiliation or violence,” the post said. “What is our duty?We are in America, we live in America, we earn in America. So we are American. And we should behave true to America. The diaspora, Bharatiya diaspora, they have a duty to their karma bhumi. They must fulfil that. They should be loyal to their karma bhumi,” Bhagwat said in his address. “Because Bharat is their janma bhumi, if they have an urge to do something and they can do that, after fulfilling their duties to their karma bhumi, it is not prohibited. But it is not obligatory,” the RSS chief added. “Your janma bhumi expects you to live the values it has imparted on you. And this is the value. This is the value, one- ness. We are one with human beings. We are one with nature,” Bhagwat said. The Universal Oneness Celebration was a key highlight of Bhagwat’s inter- national tour. The RSS leader arrived in NewYork earlier this week on the first leg of his three-nation global outreach tour to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom at the invitation of overseas local organizations as part of RSS’ centenary year celebrations. “UNITY IN DIVERSITY IN BHARAT’S DNA” Bhagwat highlighted “unity in diver- sity” saying it is embedded in India’s “DNA” and that India’s destiny is to make the world realize that diversity can coex- ist with oneness. While “pluralism” is frequently as- sociated with the United States, “unity in diversity” defines India, he contended. “I have come here from Nagpur in Bharat to share with you today’s joy and today’s spirit. When we say United States of America, one word is often discussed frequently. That is pluralism. And when we say Bharat, another phrase is dis- cussed: unity in diversity. For Bharat, this unity and this diversity, both are in their DNA,” Bhagwat said. “Nations are not merely geographical entities. The high-profile event, organised by Canadian Hindus for Outreach, Rela- tions and Dialogue (CHORD), kicked off with cultural performances, including traditional folk songs rendered by mem- bers of the Indian diaspora. Reflecting on India’s core ethos, Bhag- wat highlighted the universal nature of the Hindu worldview. “Whenever Bharat has been asked for help anywhere in the world, it has never refused and it extends a helping hand even without even being asked. This is our tradition, the DNA of Bharat. That is why you may have heard the saying–‘If Hindus awaken, the world awakens,’” he said. He further explained how Indian spiritual heritage fosters oneness across humanity and nature. “They regard both the animate and the inanimate as their own…They have been taught to see unity in diversity. That is why diversity never poses a problem for unity in India; our tradition teaches us that not only is there unity in diversity, but diversity itself is a form of unity,” added the RSS Chief. Bhagwat called on the global com- munity to embrace the ancient philoso- phy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the understanding that the entire world is one interconnected family. Bhagwat emphasised that true en- lightenment lies in looking past external differences to recognise the underlying spiritual unity of humanity. “Those who are open-minded and knowledgeable embrace the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam–the belief that the entire earth is one family…While individuals in the material world may differ in body, shape, and complexion, in essence, we are all one. Therefore, serv- ing others is our duty. We have gained this wisdom, which brings us enduring happiness and lasting contentment,” he said.
